Led by sophomore Gina Verge's first place in the all-around, 38.125, the Bears completed a 1-2-3 sweep in the individual all-around, en route to a school record 190.450 team score and third place finish at the URI Invitational. Brown finished behind #24 NC State and URI, and ahead of Yale and UMass.
For her efforts, Verge earned ECAC Co-Gymnast of the Week (2/11) honors as she is Brown's third ECAC weekly honoree this season.
Verge scored a 9.375 on the vault, which was the fourth-highest Brown score, with a 9.400 on the bars for the second-highest Brown score. She posted a 9.700 on the beam, third-highest for the Bears, and a season-high 9.650 on the floor, fourth-highest for Brown.
Her 38.125 in the all-around was a career-high, as she is competing in the all-around competition for the first time this year, and was also a Brown season-high.
The Bears continue action on Sunday, February 24, when they host the 2002 Ivy League Classic at the Pizzitola Center. The meet begins at 1:00 p.m.
