Gymnastics Beats West Chester 186.225-177.5

West Chester, PA - The gymnastics team dominated the meet with West Chester this afternoon, grabbing first place in every event and finished with the highest team score in each event throughout the meet in the 186.225-177.5 win. Freshman Brittany Anderson's 37.575 in the all-around was the best mark, as Anderson finished first in two of the four events.
Behind Anderson's top mark in the all-around, senior Amber Smith was not far behind grabbing third place with a 36.750.
In the vault Brown went 1-2-3-4 as the team finished with a 47.675 mark outscoring West Chester 1.9 in the final team score. Leading the way fro Brown was Smith who's 9.625 was the top mark in the event. Sophomore Sarah Durning was not too far behind posting a 9.550 while senior Jessica Pouchet and Anderson rounded out the top four, finishing with 9.525 and 9.5.
On the beam Brown finished with the top five finishers led by senior Mandy Baughman's 9.525. Cavett turned in the second place performance with a 9.2 and Smith and Anderson tied for third with their 9.025.
Anderson turned in Brown's top mark on the floor exercise finishing with a 9.525 while Smith and Pouchet finished second and third with 9.475 and 9.425 respectively.
The Bears will compete in their final home meet of the season Sunday March 12, when they face Southern Connecticut, Yale and University of Rhode Island at 1:00 p.m.
