Bridgeport, CT - Juniors Jessica Pouchet (Miami, FL) and Jessica McNell (Darien, CT) had strong performances in the all-around for Brown finishing first and fourth in today's second place finish to Bridgeport. The Bears finished the day with a 179.7 team score, while Bridgeport turned in a 180.85, mark to win the meet. McNell had a strong performed well all day in her first all-around meet of three-year career at Brown finishing with a 34.75 mark.
The Bears swept vault, finishing 1-2-3. Senior tri-captain Melissa Froziat (Garden City, NY) led the Bears on vault finishing in first with a 9.225 mark while McNell came in second with a 9.125 and Pouchet rounding out the scoring for Brown taking third with a 9.025 mark.
On bars, Pouchet turned in a 9.4 mark for a first place finish, while junior Amber Smith (Fort Myers, FL) and senior tri-captain Kelly Moran (Chevy Chase, MD) tied for third each finishing with a 9.3 respectively. Freshman Hannah Goldstein (New York, NY) had a huge routine finishing the event with a 9.225 for a fourth place finish.
On beam, Forziat had the highest mark for the Bears a 8.925, good for a fifth place finish while freshman Jessica Pestronk (Grand Blanc, MI) finished sixth with a 8.8 score.
In the final event, the floor exercise Forziat once again had a high finish for Brown placing second with a 9.575 mark while Pouchet placed third with a 9.425 and Pestronk finished up fifth with a 9.275 mark.
The Bears will return to action Saturday, March 19 when they will travel to New Hampshire for a tri meet with UNH and Towson for a 7:00 meet.
