Brown Gymnastics Takes Fourth at Pittsburgh

The women's gymnastics team placed fourth in a quad-meet at Pittsburgh, which also included Rutgers and Cornell, falling to 4-5 on the season. Pittsburgh won the meet with a 194.750, while Rutgers placed second with a 192.550. Cornell edged Brown with a 188.475, followed by the Bears' 188.275.

Senior Jayne Finst (Delray Beach, FL) led Brown in the meet with a third place finish in the individual all-around, scoring a 38.275. Highlighting her performance was a first place finish on the beam, with a 9.775. She also took 13th on the floor with a 9.725, and third on the vault with a 9.675.

Senior Gina Verge (Scituate, MA) led Brown on the bars with a 9.700, good for seventh place, while freshman Nadia Nguyen (Portland, OR) placed fifth on the beam with a 9.675, to help lead the Bears.

The Bears continue action on Sunday, February 15th when they host Springfield in a 1:00 p.m. meet.
