Women's Gymnastics Shatters School Record, at Yale With a 192.00

NEW HAVEN, CT - The women's gymnastics team took third place in a tri-meet with Yale and URI on Saturday afternoon, scoring a school record 192.00, while shattering their previous school record of 190.600, set last season. The meet was extremely tight, as Yale took first with a 193.075, followed by URI with a 192.875.
Junior Jayne Finst (Delray Beach, FL) led the way for the Bears as she won the individual all-around with a school record 39.175, breaking her own record in the event of 38.675, which she accomplished last season. She also won the vault, scoring a 9.625.
On the bars, Finst and freshman Sarah Cavett (Chattanooga, TN) tied for third place, each scoring a 9.825.
Finst also led the way on the beam, taking second place with a 9.85, while tying her personal best on the floor with a 9.875. Sophomore Melissa Forziat (Garden City, NY) also tied a personal best on the floor with a 9.8, while junior Gina Verge (Scituate, MA) surpassed her career high on the floor with a 9.75.
Freshman Amber Smith (Fort Myers, FL) took fourth in the all-around with a career-high 38.550.
Brown continues action on Wednesday, February 19, when the Bears will face Rhode Island in Kingston.
