Gymnastics Collects Four USAG All-America Honors

DENTON, Texas – Brown University gymnastics collected four USAG All-America honors as the Bears competed in Individual Event Finals at the 2018 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships on Sunday afternoon at Texas Woman's University's Kitty-Magee Arena.

Senior Regan Butchness (Barrington, Ill.) earned First Team USAG All-America honors on beam for the third time in her career while both senior Claire Ryan (Greenwood, Minn.) and freshman Emma Hansen (Cincinnati, Ohio) gained First Team USAG All-America on bars for the first time.

Junior Julia Green (Exton, Pa.) garnered Second Team All-America on vault for the second time in her career, serving as an alternate on the event.

Ryan placed fourth on bars on Sunday with a 9.800 after posting a career-high 9.850 on Friday. Hansen came in ninth on bars with a 9.750, following a career-best 9.875 on Friday. Butchness finished seventh on beam with a 9.725 after registering a personal-best 9.850 on Friday.

As a team, the Bears placed fourth in Team Preliminary Session No. 2 on Friday with a 193.825, their second-highest team score of the season.
