DURHAM, N.H. – Brown University gymnastics scored a season-high 193.525, eclipsing the 193 mark for the second time in as many meets, while finishing in fourth place in a quad meet at New Hampshire with No. 8 Kentucky and Yale on Sunday afternoon at the Whittemore Center.
In the team standings, nationally ranked Kentucky won the meet with a 196.800, host UNH came in second with a 196.425, and Yale placed third with a 194.675. The Bears came in fourth with their 193.525, breaking the 193 barrier for the third time this season.
As a team, the Bears posted a 48.275 or better on each event. Brown tallied a season-high 48.275 on vault, a 48.300 on bars, a 48.575 on beam, and a 48.375 on floor.
On vault, juniors Julia Green (Exton, Pa.) and Gabrielle Hechtman (Bellmore, N.Y.) and sophomore Anne Christman (Amherst, N.H.) all scored a 9.700 – a personal best for Christman and a season high for Hechtman. Freshmen Kate Nelson (Montara, Calif.) and Rose Domonoske (Park City, Utah) each posted a season best with a 9.600 and 9.575 respectively.
Freshman Emma Hansen (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the Bears on bars with a 9.800 while seniors Anya Olson (Farmington Hills, Mich.) and Claire Ryan (Greenwood, Minn.) each registered a 9.650. Sophomore Erin Howell (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) notched a 9.625, and freshman Caroline Warren (Pawleys Island, S.C.) compiled a 9.575 to round out the scoring.
Domonoske scored a personal-best 9.800 to pace Brown on beam. Senior Regan Butchness (Barrington, Ill.) supported her with a 9.750, and Hansen tallied a career-high 9.725. Junior Cassidy Jung (San Marino, Calif.) and Ryan completed the scoring with a 9.675 and 9.625 apiece.
On floor, senior Anya Barca-Hall (Santa Cruz, Calif.) scored a team-high 9.750. Green posted a 9.725, Christman and senior Maggie McAvoy (Charlotte, N.C.) each recorded a 9.675, and Olson notched a 9.550.
Next, Brown competes at Bridgeport with Centenary and Yale on Saturday, Mar. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
