Senior Jorden Mitchell claimed first in the all-around and won event titles on vault, beam, and floor to lead Brown University gymnastics to a first-place finish with a 193.425 at Springfield College with SUNY Cortland and Rhode Island College on Saturday afternoon at Blake Arena.
Mitchell (Indianapolis, Ind.) captured the all-around with a season-high 38.875 while winning event titles on vault (9.775), beam (9.775), and floor (9.850). Junior Anya Olson (Farmington Hills, Mich.) took first on bars (9.700).
LAST YEAR'S ECAC CHAMPIONSHIP
Brown University gymnastics finished in a tie for second place at the 2016 ECAC Championship with a score of 193.550, and the Bears collected 12 All-ECAC honors at William & Mary's Kaplan Arena on Saturday, March 16, 2016.
Cornell won the meet with a 193.925 while the host Tribe matched Brown's score with a 193.550 of its own. Penn (193.050), Temple (192.525), and Yale (192.150) filled out the team standings.
As a team, the Bears boasted six student-athletes who earned a total of 12 All-ECAC honors. Jorden Mitchell '17 (Indianapolis, Ind.) led the way with first team honors in the all-around, on floor, and on beam along with second team on vault. Classmate Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) collected second team in the all-around alongside first team on vault and floor.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Brown holds the third-highest RQS in the ECAC, checking in with a 193.185. Temple leads the conference with a 194.145 RQS while Cornell sits second with a 193.660 RQS. Yale (193.010), Penn (192.935), and William & Mary (192.745) fill out the No. 4-6 spots in order.

As a team, Brown ranks third in the ECAC, sixth among USAG schools, ninth in the North East region, and 59th in the nation with an RQS of 193.185. The Bears hold a 48.585 RQS on beam (first in the ECAC) and 48.245 RQS on vault (second in the ECAC).
In the all-around, senior Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) leads the ECAC, ranks second among USAG competitors, and seventh in the North East with an RQS of 38.955.
Morant leads the ECAC with a 9.860 RQS on floor while ranking third on vault (9.785), seventh on bars (9.765), and seventh on beam (9.745).
Senior Jorden Mitchell (Indianapolis, Ind.) ranks third in the conference with a 9.775 RQS on beam while junior Anya Olson (Farmington Hills, Mich.) stands eighth in the league with a 9.755 RQS on bars.
Senior Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) has earned ECAC Gymnast of the Week three times (Jan. 17, Feb. 21, Mar. 7) this year while senior Jorden Mitchell (Indianapolis, Ind.) gained ECAC Coaches' Choice honors on Mar. 7.
Collectively, the Bears have gained 20 event titles on the year with senior Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) leading the way with 13 titles, including five on vault and two in the all-around.

2017 IVY CLASSIC
Senior Caroline Morant won titles on vault, bars, and floor while earning four All-Ivy Classic honors as Brown University gymnastics placed fourth with a 192.400 at the 2017 Ivy Classic at Yale University's Lee Amphitheater on Feb. 25.
Morant (Chicago, Ill.) collected First Team All-Ivy Classic in the all-around with a 38.550 while adding First Team honors on vault, bars, and floor. In her career, she won six Ivy Classic titles and totaled 13 All-Ivy Classic honors.
Senior Jorden Mitchell (Indianapolis, Ind.) gained First Team All-Ivy Classic on vault and beam while junior Anya Olson (Farmington Hills, Mich.) garnered First Team on bars and Second Team on floor. Mitchell concluded her career with eight All-Ivy Classic accolades and three Ivy Classic titles.
After the ECAC Championship, Brown will look to send representatives to the NCAA Regional Championships on Apr. 1 before aiming to qualify as a team to the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships from Apr. 7-9.
