Walters, Morant Continue Brown’s Dominance of ECAC Gymnastics Weekly Awards

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Sophomore Diana Walters (Austin, Texas) earned Corvias ECAC Division I Gymnast of the Week and freshman Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) was dubbed Rookie of the Week to help the Brown gymnastics team take home multiple ECAC awards for the third consecutive week. Morant was tabbed as the league's top freshman for the second time in three weeks, while Walters was honored for the second week in a row after grabbing the Coaches' Choice award last week.

Walters earned Brown's highest score on the bars and its second-highest score on vault en route to placing third in the all-around at the Bulldog Invitational at Yale on Sunday. This was the second highest all-around score in the ECAC this week.

Morant was solid on all four events for the Bears again this week. She earned the top-score for Brown on the beam and won the event with a personal best 9.800. In addition, she earned Brown's top score on floor and in the all-around. She finished in second place for the all-around at the Bulldog Invitational at Yale, helping the Bears to a team score of 191.075. Her all-around was tops amongst all ECAC athletes this week, as was her beam score.

The Bears are back in action this weekend when they travel to Springfield College on Sunday. First rotation is scheduled for 1 p.m.
