Gymnastics Earns Seventh-Best GPA in Nation, 12 Earn All-American

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown gymnastics team earned a grade point average of 3.5853 for the 2012-13 academic year, ranking the Bears seventh in the country among all NCAA gymnastics programs and earning the team recognition from the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women. Additionally, the following 12 Brown student-athletes received NACGC/W Academic All-American honors for finishing with a GPA of 3.5 or higher: 

 

Nicole Abdo (Largo, Fla.)  – 3.50

Madeline Benz (Chester, N.J.) – 3.67

Stephanie Choo (Centerville, Ohio) – 3.67

Alexa Cohen (Henrico, Va.) – 3.57

Rebecca Freedman (Plainview, N.Y.) – 3.71

Kasey Haas (Charlotte, N.C.) – 4.00

Lauren Hall (Charlton, Mass.) – 3.67

Danielle Hoffman (Bedford, N.Y.) – 3.75

Corey Holman (Westford, Mass.) – 4.00

Julia Meyer (Granite City, Ill.) – 4.00

Katie Rogers (Bethesda, Md.) – 3.84

Michelle Shnayder (Lincolnshire, Ill.) – 4.00

 

Brown placed two more student-athletes on the All-American list compared to last year's 10 honorees. The Bears remained in the nation's top 10 for team GPA after finishing a program-best fifth in 2012.
