Gymnastics Competes in USA Gymnastics Collegiate Nationals Event Finals, Earns Nine All-American Honors
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown gymnastics team concluded its showing at the 2014 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships with four individuals competing in event finals at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Sunday. Senior Rebecca Freedman (Plainview, N.Y.) competed on vault, senior Michelle Shnayder (Lincolnshire, Ill.) performed on floor, sophomore Alexandra Chretien (Commerce Township, Mich.) partook on bars and freshman Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) represented Brown on beam and floor.

Walters Captures All-Around Title, Gymnastics Takes Third in USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Semifinals
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore Diana Walters (Austin, Texas) captured the All-Around crown, classmate Alexandra Chretien (Commerce Township, Mich.) shattered the program record on bars and the Brown gymnastics team placed third (193.775) in the second session of the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships team semifinals at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Friday. The event concludes Brown’s season of team competition, but seniors Rebecca Freedman (Plainview, N.Y.) and Michelle Shnayder (Lincolnshire, Ill.) along with freshman Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) will join Chretien in Sunday’s event finals.

Gymnastics Ready to Host USA Gymnastics Collegiate Nationals
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – In a finale fitting for a season highlighted by a second straight Ivy Classic title and the program’s first-ever ECAC Championship, the Brown gymnastics team is ready to host the 2014 USA Gymnastics Collegiate Nationals Championships at the Pizzitola Sports Center this weekend. Eight qualifying teams and 37 individual qualifiers from five squads will unite on College Hill to battle for the team national title and individual event championships.

Shnayder, Walters, Morant Compete at NCAA Gymnastics Regionals
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Senior Michelle Shnayder (Lincolnshire, Ill.), sophomore Diana Walters (Austin, Texas) and freshman Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) competed at the 2014 NCAA Gymnastics University Park Regional Championships at Penn State on Saturday, representing Brown gymnastics as individual qualifiers in the all-around. Morant finished 10th (38.975), Shnayder placed 12th (38.675) and Walters took 13th (37.725). The three gymnasts marked the most single-season individual regional qualifiers in Brown history.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Senior Michelle Shnayder (Lincolnshire, Ill.), sophomore Diana Walters (Austin, Texas) and freshman Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) are set to represent the Brown gymnastics team at the 2014 NCAA Gymnastics University Park Regional Championships at Penn State on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Gymnastics Earns Team Bid to USA Gymnastics Collegiate Nationals
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – For the second year in a row, the Brown gymnastics team earned a team bid to USA Gymnastics Collegiate Nationals, which the Bears will host at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Apr. 11-13. After a fourth-place finish last season, Brown looks to add another championship to its list of 2014 accomplishments, which includes a second-straight Ivy Classic title and the program’s first-ever ECAC Championship.

NCAA Gymnastics Regional Selection Show Airs Today at 3 p.m.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On the heels of the program’s first-ever ECAC Championship, the Brown gymnastics team awaits individual bids to the NCAA Regional tournament, which will be announced during today’s NCAA Selection Show on ncaa.com at 3 p.m. Regionals are slated for Saturday, Apr. 5, at one of six potential sites throughout the country.

Shnayder, Walters, Morant Qualify for NCAA Gymnastics Regionals
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Senior Michelle Shnayder (Lincolnshire, Ill.), sophomore Diana Walters (Austin, Texas) and freshman Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) will represent the Brown gymnastics team at the 2014 NCAA Gymnastics Regionals, it was announced during the NCAA Selection Show on Monday. The most Brown gymnasts to ever qualify for a single NCAA regional event, the trio will head to the University Park Regional hosted by Penn State on April 5 to battle for two all-around qualifying spots at the NCAA Championship.

2014 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championship Tickets On Sale
Providence, RI – Brown University will host the 2014 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships on April 11-13, 2014 at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Friday will be comprised of two team competition sessions beginning at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday will have a night team final session at 7 p.m., and Sunday concludes the three-day event with a 1 p.m. start for the individual finals.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Riding the momentum of back-to-back record setting meets, the Brown gymnastics team will vie for the ECAC Division I Women’s Gymnastics Championships title at McGonigle Hall on the campus of Temple University on Saturday. The Bears seek their first-ever ECAC crown to add to back-to-back Ivy Classic Championships, and will battle Cornell, Penn, Temple, William & Mary and Yale for league supremacy beginning at 12 p.m.

Morant, Chretien Take ECAC Gymnastics Honors for Second Straight Week
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Brown gymnastics freshman Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) secured the Corvias ECAC Division I Rookie of the Week award for the second straight week and fifth time this season while sophomore Alexandra Chretien (Commerce Township, Mich.) earned back-to-back Specialist of the Week honors for her fourth accolade of the year. The pair spearheaded an historical effort that saw the Brown gymnastics team break the program team score record for the second meet in a row, posting a 194.225 at William and Mary last Friday.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Sophomore Alexandra Chretien (Commerce Township, Mich.) tied the school record of 9.875 on bars and freshman Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) took second with a career-high 39.025 in all-around, helping the Brown gymnastics team post a 194.225 and break the team score school record for the second meet in a row. The Bears placed second overall at Kaplan Arena on Friday, trailing only first-place North Carolina (194.775) and finishing ahead of William and Mary (193.425) and Rutgers (193.375).

Chretien, Morant Grab ECAC Gymnastics Weekly Awards After Record-Breaking Weekend
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Brown gymnastics freshman Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) earned Corvias ECAC Division I Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season and sophomore Alexandra Chretien (Commerce Township, Mich.) was tabbed Specialist of the Week for the second time following their roles in the Bears’ record-breaking performance last Sunday. The duo set two personal records each and helped Brown set the school record with a 194.125 team score.

Gymnastics Breaks School Records on Bars, Team Total in Second Place Finish
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Program records and personal records alike were shattered as the Brown gymnastics team upped the ante with a best-ever 194.125 team score to finish in second place in quad meet action at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Sunday. The Bears were edged in a fierce battle with first-place Bridgeport (194.650) and finished ahead of West Chester (188.525) and University of Rhode Island Club (170.800). Brown broke the school record on bars with a 48.800, erasing the previous mark of 48.650 set in 2011, while 15 personal records fell for the Bears.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Senior Michelle Shnayder (Lincolnshire, Ill.) and sophomore Alexandra Chretien (Commerce Township, Mich.) each scored 9.775 for third place on floor and bars, respectively, and freshman Caroline Morant (Chicago, Ill.) placed second in the all-around standings with a 38.400, but the Brown gymnastics team was edged by a tough Bridgeport squad, 194.675-191.025, on Thursday evening. Despite missing the victory, the Bears broke the 191-point mark for the sixth straight meet and the seventh time in eight outings.

Walters, Hoffman Earn ECAC Gymnastics Weekly Awards in Wake of Ivy Classic Title
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Sophomore Diana Walters (Austin, Texas) was named Corvias ECAC Division I Women’s Gymnastics Co-Gymnast of the Week and junior Danielle Hoffman (Bedford, N.Y.) nailed down the Coaches’ Choice award following their performances that led Brown to a second straight Ivy Classic Championship on Sunday. Walters earns her third Gymnast of the Week nod and fourth overall recognition of the season, while Hoffman’s first selection bumps the Bears’ total to 13 ECAC awards over seven weeks of competition.

Gymnastics Claims Second Straight Ivy Classic Title
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – An inspired 49.125 team score on the floor exercise shattered the Bears’ program record and lifted the Brown gymnastics team to its second straight Ivy Classic Championship on the strength of a 193.375 team total at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Sunday. The Bears earned their highest team total since last year’s Ivy Classic, snapped an 11-year-old record on floor and saw 11 different personal records set during the event.

Gymnastics Set to Defend Ivy Classic Crown on Sunday
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Bears have a chance to make history and become the first Brown gymnastics team to win back-to-back Ivy Classic championships when they host the event featuring Cornell, Penn and Yale at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Sunday at 1 p.m. Last year’s Ivy Classic championship - the first for Brown since 1990 and the first for any team besides Cornell or Penn since 2006 – has given way to a streak of success and consistency that has carried over to this year’s squad.

DURHAM, N.H. – Six gymnasts walked away with personal bests as the Brown gymnastics team placed second with a team score of 191.600 at the University of New Hampshire in tri-meet action on Saturday. The Bears broke the 191-point mark for the fifth time this season, while the host Wildcats (195.575) took first and Centenary (188.600) placed third.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A mere half a point proved the difference between first and second place as the Brown gymnastics team finished as runner up at the Bears' first home meet of the season at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Sunday. Bridgeport (192.450) eked out a narrow victory, the Bears (191.950) took second, Brockport State (186.550) finished third and Rhode Island College (175.075) came in fourth.
