PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND – Junior Rebecca Freedman (Plainview, NY) was honored with the ECAC Specialist of the Week award on Tuesday, marking the 11th time this season that one of the weekly honors has gone to a Brown gymnast.
A consistent contributor on the vault, the Bears' strongest event, Freedman turned in a beautiful performance in Brown's senior meet on Tuesday, March 12th. She earned a score of 9.725 in front of the home crowd, helping the team break the school record on the apparatus with a combined score of 48.750. On Sunday, March 17th, the team competed in its third meet of the week, traveling eight hours to George Washington. Freedman was impressive once again, turning in a career-high score of 9.775, Brown's highest mark on the event.
The Bears will travel to Ithaca, New York this Saturday to compete in the ECAC Championships at Cornell University. Competition is set to begin at 12:00pm.
