Brown Gymnastics Earns Fifth-Best GPA in the Country
Providence, RI- Brown gymnasts Katie Goddard '12 (Public Policy & American Institutions), Rebecca Freedman '14 (Science & Society), Kasey Haas '13 (Political Science) and Katie Rogers '14 (Business, Entrepreneurship & Organizations) boasted a perfect 4.00 grade point average to lead a group of 10 Bears that received Scholastic All-America honors from the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) for the 2011-12 season. As a team, Brown posted its best ranking ever, earning fifth in the nation with a team GPA of 3.6414.
The All-American team is compromised of 471 student-athletes across Division I, II and III who attained a year-long or cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher,
Goddard, who received the honor for the fourth time in her career, was also a CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America honoree, as well as the ECAC Scholar Athlete of the Year and an Academic All-Ivy selection.
Also earning Scholastic All-America honors was Madeline Benz '14 (3.67 – Science & Society), Danielle Hoffman '15 (3.60 – Business, Entrepreneurship & Organizations), and Julia Meyer '13 (3.62 - Engineering), Michelle Shnayder '14 (3.88 – Neuroscience), Lilly Siems '12 (3.83 – International Relations) and Carli Wiesenfeld '12 (3.62 - Engineering).
