Brown Gymnastics Ranks Sixth in NACGC/W 2011 Academic Rankings
Providence, RI- The Brown University gymnastics team compiled a team grade point average of 3.6093 to rank sixth overall in the country in the NACGC/W 2011 Academic Rankings. Also, eight Brown gymnasts were honored as NACGC/W Academic All-Americans, including Chelsey Binkley, Rebecca Freedman, Katie Goddard, Kasey Haas, Julia Meyer, Michelle Shnayder, Lilly Siems and Victoria Zanelli.
Goddard, who is concentrating in English and History, led the group with a perfect 4.0 GPA, is followed by Shnayder (Undecided), Siems (Cognitive Science) and Meyer (Engineering) each with a 3.87. Also, Binkley, an English concentrator, Haas (Political Science/Public Policy) and Zanelli (COE) each earned a 3.85. Last but certainly not least, Freedman rounded out the group with a 3.600 grade point average.
SEMO was first in the country with a team GPA of 3.9118, followed by Southern Utah (3.8050), Utah (3.7631), Alabama (3.7094) and UW-Lacrosse (3.6619). The Bears were just ahead of Eastern Michigan (7th – 3.5805), Michigan State (8th – 3.5494), Central Michigan (9th – 3.5407).
