Brown Fencers Win Five Matches at Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, MA -- The Brown men's and women's fencing teams competed in a Northeast Fencing Conference meet at Boston College on Saturday featuring MIT, Dartmouth, Harvard, Brandeis, BC, and Tufts. The men finished with a 3-3 record and the women went 2-4.

The men's team picked up victories over Dartmouth (18-9), Brandeis (16-11) and Tufts (18-9) while the women defeated Dartmouth (22-5) and Tufts (19-8).

Leading the way for the Bears was junior All-American Paul Friedman (San Marino, CA) who finished the day with an impressive 16-1 individual record. Also turning in strong performances for Brown were senior Mark Dembitz (Mies, Switzerland) (13-2), freshman Masha Kirasirova (Brookline, MA) (12-6) and sophomore Meg Robinson (Morristown, NJ) (11-7).
