COLUMBUS, Ohio – Brown fencing sophomore Simon Jones (Louisville, Colo.) finished in 18th place in the men's epee field to wrap up the Brown fencing team's showing at the NCAA Fencing Championships at French Fieldhouse on Sunday. The Bears finished in 15th place overall in the field of 25 teams.
The NFC All-Star won 10 of 23 bouts for a -9 differential. Jones' NCAA appearance follows an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional on March 9, a seventh-place effort at the Ivy League Round-Round in February and a superb 17-1 record at Northeast Fencing Conference Meet #2 in January.

Whalen placed 14th overall in women's sabre, winning 11 of 23 bouts for a -9 differential. Taylor finished 19th and won eight bouts, while Hawrot clocked in at 20th in women's foil with seven victories.
Seven Ivy League teams competed in the NCAA Championships with Princeton finishing as the national runner-up, adding to its collection that includes the 2013 National Championship trophy and its fifth-straight women's Ivy League title in 2014. Harvard (fifth), Columbia (seventh), Penn (eighth), Yale (12th) and Cornell (20th) rounded out the Ivy League's strong representation on the national stage. Harvard's Adrienne Jarocki claimed an individual national title in women's sabre with 18 victories and a +53 differential.
