  • Three Bears Shine at 2013 IHSA Nationals

    The Brown equestrian team concluded its 2013 season this past weekend, competing in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association’s National Championships at the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex in Pennsylvania. Three Bears competed in the four-day event, turning in impressive performances against the best riders in the country.

    Fresh snow on the ground in New Hampshire forced the 2013 Ivy League Show to be held in doors, but the change in venue did not hamper the competition, as the five schools battled down to the wire to determine this year’s champion.
  • Three Brown Riders Earn Spots in the National Show at Zones

    On Saturday, April 6th, five members of the Brown equestrian team represented the program at the 2013 Zone 1 Championships at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. The competition served as the qualifying show for ISHA Nationals, as the top two riders in each class advanced to the premiere collegiate horse show in the country, held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in May.
  • Brown Qualifies Five for Zones at Regional Show

    The Brown equestrian team headed to Connecticut on Saturday to compete in the Regional Show, the qualifier for the Zone competition on April 6th. The Bears qualified six riders for Zones, leaving only ten spots for the other ten teams in the region, an exhibition of the team’s strength and versatility.
  • Brown Wins Holy Cross Show and Takes Third in Johnson and Wales Competition

    After a winter full of canceled and rescheduled shows, the Brown equestrian team had a busy weekend, competing in the Holy Cross Show at Windcrest Farm in Hebron, Connecticut on Saturday and the Johnson & Wales Show in Rehoboth, Massachusetts on Sunday.
  • Brown Takes Fifth in UMass Dartmouth Show

    The Brown equestrian team competed in its first show of the spring season this past Saturday, taking fifth place among the 11 teams that traveled to Claddagh Farm in Tiverton, Rhode Island. Johnson and Wales took the first spot in the team scoring, while URI and Roger Williams rounded out the top three. RIC, Assumption, Becker, Holy Cross, Clark, Salve Regina and UMass Dartmouth also competed in the show
  • Lindsay Wong Maintains Lead in Cacchione Cup Race as Brown Ties for Second at Region One Show

    On Saturday, November 3rd, the Brown Varsity Equestrian team competed at the Region One Show in Hebron, Connecticut. The competition was held at Windcrest Farms and featured seven different schools from Region One of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, including Brown University, Becker College, Roger Williams University, Clark University, UMASS Dartmouth, URI and Johnson and Wales University.
  • Several First Place Finishes Propel Brown to Second at the URI Show

    On Saturday, October 27th, the Brown University Varsity Equestrian team competed in the URI Horse Show at the Mystic Valley Hunt Club in Gales Ferry, Connecticut. The show featured schools from Zone One, Region One of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, as Assumption College, Becker College, UMASS Dartmouth, Johnson and Wales University and Roger Williams University joined Brown and URI, and many riders from all of the schools had the opportunity to compete in a variety of events.
  • Brown Places Third at Becker Show

    Brown’s Equestrian team posted a strong showing this past weekend, finishing third over Becker and Johnson & Wales at the Becker Show. The Bears totaled 30 points, behind URI and Roger Williams.
  • Brown Places Fourth Overall in Opening Show

    Brown equestrian opened its 2012-13 season at the Roger Williams Show on Saturday. It was a limited show with only two riders per division, per school in the fences and three in the flat. The Bears finished with 32 team points, behind Roger Williams, URI and UMass-Dartmouth.
  • Johnson & Wales Equestrian Show Cancelled

    Brown equestrian's seaon-opening show hosted by Johnson & Wales, scheduled for Saturday, October 6, has been cancelled. The Bears will now open their season on Saturday, October 13 at the Roger Williams Show.
