A week after clinching a qualifying spot for Zones as a team, Brown equestrian turned in another good showing over the weekend, as four riders earned individual spots at Zones as well. Liz Giliberti, Allegra Aron, Rebecca McGoldrick, and Katie Eng each placed in the top two in their classes at the Regional Championships, advancing to Zones in the process.
The Bears kicked off the morning in the Open Fences, where Giliberti, Aron, and Elise Fishelson were in action. Despite an exceptionally tough competitors list, all three Brown riders turned in nice rides, with Aron and Giliberti taking first and second respectively. Fishelson also put up a strong showing, placing sixth overall.
In the Novice Fences, Brown again turned in a dominant showing, sweeping both of the qualifying spots despite riding in an unusually large class of 21 riders. Katie Eng took the top spot, while McGoldrick placed second, giving the Bears another pair of competitors at Zones.
McGoldrick became the only double qualifier for Bruno later in the day, when she took another second in the Novice Flat. After a nice initial ride, McGoldrick earned a call back to compete in the second class, where she eventually pinned second overall.
The Bears will be back in action on April 10, when they travel to Mount Holyoke to compete at the Zone Championships.
