Delano, Pearl Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Baseball freshman outfielder Garett Delano and women’s skiing senior Natalie Pearl have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Mar. 6-12, Brown announced on Monday. 

Garett Delano, Baseball, Freshman, Callahan, Fla.
Freshman outfielder Garett Delano batted .500 in a three-game series at No. 12 Texas A&M, leading the Bears with six hits and a .833 slugging percentage. A native of Callahan, Fla., Delano added one home run and two RBIs. He hit safely in all three contests, including three hits with a two-run home run in the series opener, and is currently batting .318 on the season. 

Natalie Pearl, Women’s Skiing, Senior, Steamboat Springs, Colo.
Senior Natalie Pearl led the ski team to a third place overall finish at the USCSA National Championships on Tuesday and Saturday. The Steamboat Springs, Colo. native earned First Team All-America honors in both the slalom and giant slalom over the week. In the championships’ first event, the slalom, Pearl led Brown with a fifth-place finish. On Saturday, Pearl came in ninth in the giant slalom, again posting the top time for the Bears.
