Maia (Sao Paulo, Brazil) was named the Ivy
League Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after
turning in one of the top shooting weekend's in school history, as
the Bears defeated Dartmouth and fell to Harvard in double
overtime.
Maia totaled a season high 21 points against Dartmouth,
connecting on an incredible 10-of-11 field goals. All of his
points were scored in the paint, with his only miss an unexpected
three-point attempt. Maia also grabbed four rebounds and handed out
three assists against the Big Green.
In the double overtime game with Harvard, Maia once again was
strong in the paint, connecting on 5-of-7 field goals in scoring 12
points, while pulling down four rebounds.
In the two games, Maia shot a sizzling 83-percent from the
field, hitting 15 of 18 field goals.
Maia is the Ivy League's leading rebounder with 7.5 rebounds
per game, while averaging 10.7 points per game for the
Bears.
Brown (8-10, 2-2 Ivy) returns to the hardwood on Friday
evening, February 8, traveling to Princeton, New Jersey to face
first-place Princeton. The Bears will then play Penn on
Saturday, February 9, in Philadelphia.
