Providence, RI- Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach Brett Crossland finished the Ironman U.S. Championship in 11 hours on Saturday, Aug. 11 in New York City.
The Ironman consisted of a 2.4 mile swim in the Hudson River, a 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile run. He finished 260 overall out of 2,146 competitors. He was supported in the in the event by more than 25 family and friends sporting "Team Crossland" t-shirts and signs.
Crossland joined the Brown strength & conditioning staff in 2010, and his primary responsibilities are to design and supervise in season, off-season and summer strength & conditioning programs for 15 varsity teams. Currently, Crossland works with baseball, women's basketball, equestrian, men's golf, men's & women's ice hockey, men's & women's lacrosse, skiing, softball, men's & women's swimming & diving, and men's & women's water polo. He has also worked with the men's basketball, gymnastics, women's soccer, and volleyball teams.
