PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University track & field alumnus Evan Weinstock '14 wrapped up the first of his two Olympic events at the Pyeongchang games on Monday evening as he finished 14th in the two-man bobsled at the Olympic Sliding Center.
Weinstock, along with pilot Justin Olsen (Air Force), placed 14th in the two-man bobsled with a four-run total time of 3:18.54. Canada and Germany tied for first in times of 3:16.86.
Weinstock was part of the fastest American sled in the two-man event. Nick Cunningham and Hakeem Abdul-Saboor finished 21st after three runs, one spot outside of qualification for the final run, while Codie Bascue and Sam McGuffie finished in 25th place.
A four-time Ivy League champion for Brown between the decathlon and heptathlon, Weinstock will also compete in the four-man bobsled event in Pyeongchang, scheduled to start with the heats on Saturday, Feb. 24.
