Position: Athletic Communications Coordinator (Volleyball, Women’s Ice Hockey, Baseball, M/W Crew, Wrestling, Equestrian, M/W Fencing, and M/W Swimming & Diving)

Mike Gambardella joined the Brown athletic staff in September of 2010 as the Athletic Communications Coordinator. In this role, Gambardella handles all media relation efforts for 11 of Brown’s 37 programs including volleyball, women’s ice hockey, baseball, wrestling, equestrian, men’s & women’s fencing, men’s & women’s crew and men’s & women’s swimming & diving.

Gambardella comes to Brown from the BIG EAST Conference where he served as a communications assistant. There, he was the primary contact for volleyball, softball, men's & women' cross country, men's & women's swimming and diving, golf and rowing, while serving as the tertiary contact for men’s basketball and assisting with football.

In September 2009, he completed his master’s degree in Sport Management/International Business from St. John’s University in Queens, N.Y. While completing his graduate degree, Gambardella worked full time in the Athletic Communications department for the Red Storm as the SID for softball, men’s & women’s golf and the tertiary contact for men’s basketball.

A professional public address announcer, Gambardella has lent his voice to numerous schools and programs including St. John’s, Providence College, John Jay University, Brown University the New York Public School Athletic League (PSAL) Basketball Championships and New York Summer Baseball League.

Gambardella has worked as a media relations coordinator at prestigious events such as the BIG EAST Men’s Basketball Championship at Madison Square Garden and the 2010 NCAA Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds in Providence, R.I as well as BIG EAST Media Days for Men’s Basketball and Football.

A Warwick, R.I., native and graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School, Gambardella is also a 2007 graduate of St. John’s with a bachelor’s degree in sports management with a minor in business.
