Elizabeth Lussier joined the Sports Foundation in May 2014 as the Development Assistant. She served as Executive Assistant to Brown’s Chancellor Emeritus, Artemis A W Joukowsky, for the last three years. Liz supported Mr. Joukowsky in a wide variety of endeavors at the University, including the Public Arte Committee which brought our Kodiak Brown Bear, “Indomitable,” to Brown from the Pangolin Editions foundry in Gloucester, England.
Prior to her work at Brown, she served as Head of West Bay Christian Academy, a K-8 independent private school in RI, where she led the school in gaining recognition as the second school in New England to be dually accredited with the New England Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc. and the Association of Christian Schools International. During her 18-year tenure the school celebrated the completion of two successful capital campaigns. Liz also served as the Director of Administration for a 300 acre non-profit year-round accredited camp and conference center in southern Rhode Island.
Liz received her teaching and administrative degree from Barrington College and continued her studies in educational administration at Providence College.
Liz is a native Rhode Islander and enjoyed living in numerous historic homes which her parents restored in East Greenwich, Lincoln, Cumberland, Foster and North Scituate. She lives with her husband Chris in Garden City, Cranston.
