Matt Jarret joined the Brown University Sports Foundation team
in May, 2008. In his role as Assistant Director of Operations and
Communications, Matt manages and plans Sports Foundation
fundraising events, oversees BUSF messaging and brand development
and the quarterly Brown Bear magazine. Matt also manages a
portfolio of leadership gift prospects, in collaboration with other
members of the BUSF staff.
Prior to joining the Sports Foundation, Matt spent four years
working at the America East Conference, where he was most recently
the Assistant Commissioner for Championships and Sport
Administration. As Assistant Commissioner he was responsible for
planning, managing and administering all aspects of 19 conference
championship events, as well as coordinating all other major events
for the conference. In addition, Matt was also responsible for
coordinating marketing strategies and branding initiatives ensuring
the long-term growth of the NCAA Division I conference. As a senior
member of the America East staff, Matt also had administrative
oversight of regular season sport matters and served on the
Championship and Competition committee. Prior to the America East
Conference, Jarret spent one year at the Big East Conference as a
Sport Administration Assistant in the Championships Department.
A native of Woonsocket, R.I., Matt graduated from Connecticut in
2000 with a B.A. in English and played Division I ice hockey for
the Huskies for four years. Matt returned to Connecticut as a
Graduate Assistant for the Football team working in the Counseling
Program for Intercollegiate Athletes while earning his Master of
Arts in Sport Management/Kinesiology in 2004.
