Emily Burmeister has served as a member of the Brown Sports Medicine staff since August of 2007, and as an Assistant Athletic Trainer she works with the Bears’ women’s ice hockey, softball, men’s and women’s water polo, and skiing programs.
Prior to Brown, Burmeister earned a master’s degree in Athletic Training from West Virginia University in 2007. While at West Virginia, she acted as a graduate assistant at Waynesburg University, working with the Yellow Jackets’ football, men’s and women’s basketball, softball, and men’s and women’s soccer teams.
Burmeister served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Waldorf University in Forest City, Iowa, from 2002-05 and held responsibilities over all 13 of the school’s varsity sports, including football.
A 2001 graduate of Simpson College with a bachelor’s degree in physical education with an emphasis in athletic training and wellness, the Iowa native resides in East Providence, R.I. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and is a certified athletic trainer.
