Tony Bonvechio joined the Brown Department of Athletics as theAthletics Communications Assistant in August of 2013. Bonvechioserves as the primary contact for women's crew, equestrian, men'sand women's fencing, field hockey, gymnastics, women's ice hockey,softball, volleyball, men's and women's water polo andwrestling.
Before coming to Brown, Bonvechio spent two years as the SportsInformation Graduate Assistant at Adelphi University. While atAdelphi, Bonvechio served as the primary media contact for fieldhockey, men's and women's tennis, women's basketball, women'sbowling and baseball. He was also a member of the NationalCollegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II East Regionvoting committee.
Prior to Adelphi, Bonvechio worked for one year as the SportsInformation Intern at his alma mater, Saint Michael's College,where he assisted with all aspects of the sports informationdepartment as well as serving as the primary media contact formen's and women's ice hockey. As an undergraduate, Bonvechio was atwo-year member of the Purple Knights baseball team and set theprogram record for single-season fielding percentage with no errorsin 131 chances as the team's primary catcher in 2010.
A native of Newport, Vt., Bonvechio earned a Bachelor's degreein journalism and mass communication from Saint Michael's in 2010and a Master's degree in exercise science from Adelphi in 2013.
