Louie Bernardini joined the Brown University baseball coaching staff as an assistant coach in August of 2013 after spending the last two years as the pitching coach at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.

While at Bates, Bernardini assisted with the individual development of pitchers and players, team performance and player IQ. He also assisted in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, camps and clinics, community relations and compliance rules and regulations.

Before Bates, Barnardini spent two seasons as a baseball graduate assistant at Springfield College, assisting in both coaching and recruiting within the program. Additionally, he was responsible for several administrative duties, including team travel, budget and student-athlete eligibility.

Bernardini previously served as a pitching coach in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League with the West Hampton Aviators and as an assistant coach for the NYCBL Saratogo Phillies.

A starting pitcher and captain at Wheaton College, Bernardini earned recognition for All-Conference, All-Regional, and All-National team selections. He helped Wheaton claim four straight NEWMAC championships, including a regional title and trip to the DIII National Championship in 2006, before falling short in the national title game. The Maine native also had strong summer showings in both the NYCBL, where with a record of 8-0 he was pitcher of the year in 2006 and started against the Russian National team, and the NECBL, with starts against both the Dominican Republic National team and Team USA.

A 2009 graduate of Wheaton College, Bernardini earned a Master of Science in Physical Education from Springfield College in 2013.
